Tip #18

Take photos of student activities and research in the school library and create a movie of still shots to post weekly. Don’t forget to remind the kids to share the web address with their parents/caregivers.

The problem with this one is getting permission to post students’ photos online. Its a security issue!

Hi, Nancy. AASL was given a sample from a member who uses a release form for her school library. Here is a copy of what we use: http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/aasl/aaslissues/releaseform.pdf. It would obviously have to be tweaked to fit a school library setting. Possibly it could be included in the school information packets at the beginning of the year. Parents would have to sign and send back to the school to keep on file.
