When disasters hit — from Hurricane Sandy to Sandy Hook — the library can play a role in recovery efforts.  Before and after disasters, promoting the Library as a Safe Place with signage, biblio-therapeutic book displays, and “Comfort Zones” for quiet reading and solitary reflection can contribute greatly to efforts of recovery.
