Tip #695

In the realm of making resources easier to find, I catalog my back issues of all the Cobblestone Kids Discover magazines. These are all themed issues, so it is easy to give them a Dewey number that is the same as the books would get. I shelve them together as Cobblestone, Faces or Kids Discover – but in call number order. The kids are loving the ability to use these short articles in research papers. I even had a teacher come back to ask that I detail the subject headings more precisely to support a specific biographical project – so now we can search Dolley Madison, J.E.B. Stuart, Roger Williams, etc. Those magazines are so useful – when they are accessible.
