Ok, so I am just saying, if you want students to flock to the library — buy a button maker! For Banned Books Week we bought a button maker and encouraged the students to make buttons relating to banned books, freedom to read, etc. I don’t know that I have ever seen students so excited about a project. I can not get them off of the machine and they are already thinking of other things they can do with buttons. One of the seniors wants to make buttons with college logos for college reps that are scheduled to come to our campus. We just created a maker space in the library and this has been a wonderful way to launch the idea of making.
